A Quaint Romantic Setting. I have been coming to The Sow's Ear for over 15 years now. The last time I was there was this past Summer. Food is always delicious in taste as well as presentation. The wine list is pretty good I believe that the restaurants in Cambria pride themselves on their extensive wine selections being that they are in the Central California "Wine Country".

Staple items to order when I am in town... the stuffed mushrooms, mussels, flowerbread, Macaroni and Cheese and the Trout consistently good. A family member used to work here so I may be biased but she hasn't worked here in over 10 years and we still return because the service is always nice and the ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and romantic.

Perfect ending to a day in Cambria.. The Sow's Ear had been recommended by the concierge of the inn we were staying at. At first the name threw me off but my better half talked me into trying it, and I was SO glad he did. We went in around 6:30, the host, who I assume was the owner, was so genuinely happy to see us and even though we didn't have reservations he said, "That's okay! We will feed you anyways! Let's eat!". I thought that was just the sweetest thing and immediately felt right at home. The fireplace kept everyone warm and the flowerpot bread was DELICIOUS! I chose the Salmon baked in parchment paper with dill and lemon butter. The salmon was one of the best I've had. It was cooked to perfection and was moist and flaky. My SO had the kalamata olive and goat cheese stuffed chicken breast and leg, again, one of the best chicken dishes I have had. The chicken was moist and melted in your mouth. We ended with a milk chocolate cheesecake and both couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the whole dinner had been. Our service was fantastic, the dinner was romantic and we felt like we were guests in their home. What a wonderful experience, I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable dinner!

A Very Nice Ending to a Pleasant Day. We were visiting Cambria with some friends who were staying in Cambria for the weekend. They had wanted to take us to another restaurant but it had closed. So they selected the Sow's Ear. What a great choice! As you can see from the dates of the other reviews, they are apparently consistently good. The service was excellent, friendly and the place has character. We were celebrating anninversaries and they took care of that as well. The food was delicious and our wine was very good. So if you are in Cambria try them, you will not be disappointed.

Don't miss The Sow's Ear. Excellent! The wait staff were great and food was fabulous. It was a wonderful way to end the day of touring the shops and wine tasting. It was my birthday and they took my picture with a Polaroid and sign the picture with the date and give you a free treat. I had Raspberry Cheesecake. If you go to Cambria don't pass this restaurant up.

Fantastic! Terrific! Worth every cent.... I was pleasantly surprised. I went here with a couple of friends for my partner's birthday and it was perfect. The wine selection is terrific and offered not only a wide variety of wine but also a good variety of price ranges. I am embarrassed to say how many flower pots of bread we ate. Just everything that came out of the kitchen was perfect, the fried calamari appetizer was tender. The catfish, terrific! Filet mignon just melted in your mouth but the thick cut pork chops are off the flavor chart. I have never tasted pork chops that were so tender and delicious. To make the meal even more perfect, the waitress and our host were very responsive and made a wonderful night even more wonderful, I can not wait to go back.
