Goshi in Paso Robles: Fair price, fair value.
OK, but not great. The hot green tea, miso and sukiyaki were not hot by Japanese standards; just warm enough. The quality of the food is good; the preparation, satisfactory. On the other hand, the serving staff is almost clueless; don't bother to ask about menu items; just read the description on the menu. If you're hungry for Japanese in SLO's North County, go to Goshi for a fair value at a fair price. If you wan't some special dishes drive all the way to Encino, to Sushi Hirosuke on Ventura Blvd.

Goshi Rocks!.
You MUST go to Goshi! This place is absolutely wonderful and I find myself seated at the sushi bar once a week. The food is second to none and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Their sushi is fresh, delicious and the presentation is beautiful and creative. Their sauces (Tetaki, spicy sauce, etc) are fantastic and compliment their modern flair. Garlic chips go well with most of their sushi dishes.... a must try (just don't attempt to kiss your date after the meal!). This place can get crowded so make reservations or arrive when they open.

great food.
First, I believe it is Goshi's, second my husband and I come here generally at least once a month and have never had a bad meal, perhaps lacking service but generally that is good too. We also go out to sushi where ever we go, be it San Francisco, LA, Sacramento, even Reno and Vegas, and this is still one of the best we have ever had, certainly the most consistent (food wise).
