A little bit of compassion is
appreciated when you are ill. The rest of the staff was kind, but Vanessa was so incredibly rude over the phone and in person. They want their money in full before they will do anything and won't hesitate to make a scene about it in the office. I was so embarrassed when Vanessa chewed me out at the office. Nobody else in the healthcare industry bills before they scan you. 5 Cities Medical imaging waits until the night before your scan to tell you that there is a balance due as soon as you arrive. Mine happened to be over $500 and I didn't check my messages. Good thing I brought my credit card.
God forbid you don't know what NPO means... I spent this morning being yelled at by Vanessa because I drank a cup of tea and bread 4 hours before before my ct scan. Not the way you treat someone with cancer, or anyone for that matter. I would recommend using someone else for your scans and X-rays until Vanessa finds another place if employment.
I almost didn't go here because of a previous review I had read. I am so glad that I DID go, because they were WONDERFUL! The front desk was fast and efficient and friendly. They did have a very nasty client before me and they handled the situation very well. They treated me very kindly! I got in for my MRI within 5 minuets. The technician did a fabulous job making me feel comfortable and kept me aware of the process. It was my first MRI, so I was nervous. I felt very safe and it was over very quickly! I highly recommend this business and would use them again if needed.
AVOID COMPLETELY IF YOU DESIRE COMPASSION. The technologist "Dan" who did my scan was the extremely RUDE! I was supposed to get medication because I am very, very CLAUSTROPHOBIC! He said he did not have anything that said I needed sedation. I told him that I had spoken to a representative over the telephone and told her I NEEDED to be medicated. She said to bring a driver SO I DID. He kept saying it was just a knee. That’s is NOT THE POINT! I cannot tolerate being immobilized like that, especially with the weights he piled on my leg. I told him I had recurring nightmares of being stuck or lodged in a small place. I told him I was ANXIOUS AND HAD STOMACH CRAMPS. He made me feel like an idiot or a coward and had no sympathy what so ever! I said that I did not need to have brought my mother to drive me then, since he refused to medicate me. If that scan had not ended when it did, I would have not been able to take anymore. He did not say ONE WORD TO ME WHEN THE SCAN WAS OVER. HE JUST STARED AT ME! I thanked him and went to the locked forgetting the key. He was just standing there dangling the key glaring at me. HE, DAN, HAS NO BUSINESS IN WORK IN THE HEALTH CARE PROFESSION. I never mentioned it to him, but I am a retired Registered Nurse, and was APPALLED at his LACK OF COMPASSION! I threw up when I got to the car! I WILL NEVER, EVER GO THERE AGAIN! MOREOVER, I WILL BE PASSING THIS INFORMATION TO EVERYONE I KNOW IN SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY.
