Remote Templeton Gap winery fuses French tradition with modern techniques to create much heralded "Paso blends.".
In Short
Whether it's the duration of the drive or the higher-than-usual tasting fee, visitors to this "tasting salon" tend to be at a more intermediate level in their wine drinking, or at least aspire to be. Tasting room employees are all well-versed in the company's philosophies and spend a great deal of time discussing the terrior-centric, French oak-barreled winemaking process. The space itself is comfortable, climate-controled and features a large flat-screen with rotating images of the harvest. There are no gift shop gimmicks.
