In order to treat a problem you have to figure out what’s wrong, so in my mind the best doctor is a good diagnostician. And, Dr. Muran is the best diagnostician I’ve ever worked with. He starts out by listening to me- really listening. Then he asks questions, and once again, listens. Then he collects data and makes recommendations. Then he follows up, and you guessed- listens. He’s fastidious when it comes to analyzing information, and is able to look at how multiple factors may be interacting to produce symptoms. By that kind of commitment to the diagnostic process, he is able to recommend and fine-tune treatment. I feel that I’m getting the most thorough treatment possible when I see Dr. Muran.

I also like the fact that Dr. Muran is holistic in the way he approaches treatment. He brings in skills and knowledge about “traditional” and alternative treatments. I always want someone to start with the most benign treatment possible, and I think Dr. Muran does that. An example might be the use of supplements versus pharmaceuticals, though I feel comfortable with his recommendations about pharmaceuticals. The point is, I feel safer with a physician who brings that kind of philosophy and that level of knowledge and skill into the treatment process.

When it comes to healing, I don’t think there are very many instant fixes, so that’s not what I’m looking for. But I do need information and guidance on addressing the process, which includes working on wellness and taking care of symptoms. That’s the level of care I receive at Longevity.

Cost of service is high since insurance is not accepted. Of course you can file with your insurance company but my experience has been that coverage has been minimal. I think I understand the rationale about the insurance but it’s a shame that it limits the people who could access these great services. There’s no easy answer about health coverage

My wife and I are in our seventies and have been patients of Drs. Peter and Sandy Muran for about 5 years during which time we have received excellent care. My daughter commented recently that for a 77 year old man, I look amazingly young and have unusual vigor. The name, "Longevity Health Care Center", truly reflects their focus. They aim to keep us healthy and not wait until we get sick the way conventional medicine is practiced. They are thorough in their assessment of the state of our health, analyzing aspects of our physiology that most doctors totally ignore. I was bitten by a Lyme tick 12 years ago and still carry the CD57 immune marker in my body. Yet, because of Dr. Pete's emphasis on keeping my state of health at optimum levels, my body has been able to keep the Lyme infection in check. My wife has had problems with food allergies, diabetes, and candida, which Sandy has analyzed and for which she has set up food and supplement protocols. These have worked remarkably well. Both of us have depended so much on Drs. Peter and Sandy that they have acquired an integral role in our quest to remain healthy.

I Feel Great!!!. I started seeing the team at Longevity Health Care about six months ago, after over 20 years of being written off by various Doctors. I went with high expectations, after being referred by a friend who was thrilled with her care. She was sure they could help with my gut and immune issues. Well I have to say that my expectations were exceeded!!!

I went to the office hoping for some improvement with my “IBS”, bad immune system, and daily headaches, fatigue, and hormone issues and received so much more! After the first hour and a half appointment Dr. Muran had ideas for all of my smallest (and largest) complaints. He ran various tests to prove his ideas. I have never had so many tests before in my life! I moved on to see Sandy who gave me a diet to follow (very restrictive) and a ton of supplements to take. After only 10 days, most of my “IBS” symptoms vanished along with my daily headaches and facial hives. What an improvement, but they did not stop there! We have been expanding my treatment with continual improvement. Symptoms that I did not even realize I had started to disappear. I feel like a 20 year old again, and my skin has cleared up, my hair is healthier and a bonus “side effect” is that I have lost over 30 pounds.

I cannot say enough great things about the Murans and their wonderful staff. The Office has a comfortable atmosphere that is like visiting friends and family instead of a cold sterile environment. It is a joy to be greeted by sweet Vicki, see either of the Muran’s, then have David take over to make sure you understand all of the tests, treatments, prescriptions and instructions. Even the check out (paying) is made much more pleasant by Rita being so attentive, kind, and fun. They are wonderful addition to an already successful experience.

It has been an expensive endeavor and insurance does not help much, but who can put a price on health and feeling great!!! I have a lot of friends and family that I am sure could benefit from Longevity’s expertise. It is not an easy fix, you have to be committed to following their instructions to the letter, but it worth everything to feel GREAT!

Great healthcare center!. I found Dr. Peter Muran and his nutritionist wife (Sandy) by accident - but what a lucky accident!! Of all the physicians I’ve seen over the years, they seem to be most aware of digestive maladies and remedies.

When I started seeing them (8/2010), I was basically at a point of auto-immunity – I was very in poor health and having trouble finding foods that wouldn’t make me ill.

At this time (11/2010) I’m still working on my fungal issue while my energy, attitude and health have much improved. I’m sure in a few more months, we’ll have this under control.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they always make me feel welcome. Beware – the fees are not for the faint of heart but well-being is a precious commodity at any price.
