Wedding: Extremely Poor Service. We choose Avila Beach Golf Resort for our wedding because it was the most affordable (but still expensive) place to get married on the coast. I want to warn other brides not to get married there because we had such poor service from Linda the Director of events. She has clearly been doing weddings here for years because she made me and my family feel like we were one of the many "cattle" she shuffles through the process of this thing called a wedding.

She was unresponsive to emails and phone calls, and the day of the wedding she would walk away from me in the middle of my sentences (and no I am not a bridezilla). Although my fiance and I had outline a timeline of how the day should go she did not follow it and we had to remind her of the timing throughout the day. She made sure this once in a life time event felt like a systematic thing SHE does everyday, although this is my first and only day doing it. I think I told her 5 times that my finace and I would be doing pictures before the ceremony and she kept saying we were doing them after.

The moral of the story is that I wouldn't recommend anyone get married here unless you want the person coordinating your day to not listen, or call you back, not return your emails until weeks/months later, confuse your wedding with others, remind you of the way "they do things" rather than being open to customize your event in small ways. I didn't trust that anything was going to happen the way we wanted.

I felt like part of a generic process, and Linda if you read this I think you have a unique opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives but I fear you have been in your job too long because on my wedding day you were a negative influence.

My husband and I will always remember the special and wonderful parts of our day and planning process and will quickly forget the unpleasant parts caused by Avila...I just want to share my story and spare other brides of the same experience I had.
