Great romantic beach hotel. My husband and I have been to the Sea Venture three times now, and we love it. The staff is friendly and the hotel offers specaial packages. All of the rooms have a private hot tub on the balconey(although depending on which room you are in, your balcony may be visable from surrounding buildings). The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. There are fireplaces in the rooms. Complementary continental breakfast delivered to your room every morning is quite nice. We got a couple's massage at the hotel last weekend, which was a very relaxing experience. The hotel is right on the beach, with an excellent ocean view from the restaurant. The beach is clean and fairly clear. The hotel offers complementary use of beach towels and beach cruisers.

it's on the ocean.... if you have to stop in pismo beach, the sea venture is your best bet. the town is really depressed - maybe they keep it that way so people won't crowed it? this hotel is right on the beach - which is a huge plus. the ocean is beautiful! if you take a walk on the sand at 7am, you can find a bunch of sand dollars, intact. the room, even though I read that they were renovated "recently" - I think are due for a major overhaul. we stayed one night on our way to big sur - thinking cutting the drive into two days from L.A. would make it a more relaxing vacation -- next time we'll just drive straight to big sur.
