First and last time to eat here, noticed some racism and when asked about the attitude of it and Mgr. said that's life go else where to eat. We will and we will pass on the poor quality and lousy service not to mention the racism...........

Good food, loud and crowded

I live in SLO and Firestone's is the major hangout for local college kids. Now me NOT being a college kid, it can get a bit annoying when all you want to do is just sit and enjoy your meal. It's loud, crowded and the staff aren't big on smiling, since they are so rushed trying to get everyone's orders out. That being said, the food is good. Burgers are the bomb, fries out of this world and the steak salad, heavenly. If you go during the week, during the day (avoid lunch time) or later at night, you will avoid the crowds. But go on a weekend and forget it! You will be waiting in a line with a ton other people who are hungry!

How do they have so many good reviews?

O.K. the food is typical bar-grill food. The place is always packed, which isn't to big of a deal it is SLO. But the service in the bar has to be one of the worst I've experienced. It wasn't just a one time deal either. The past four or five times I have been there it is consistently bad. Everything from being promptly greeted, reordering drinks and getting you bill are always a pain and there rude on top of that. So if you want a burger, beer and to watch the game this is the place, but don't expect good service.

Great place to hang out, enjoy some tasty food, order some thirst-quenching beverages, watch some sports, whether by yourself, with a significant other, with friends, or family.

Recently, I went to dine at Firestone Grill to call it aweful is being nice!

The restaurant is crowded, people are packed in like sardines. After ordering my meal, I tried to wait for my item to come up. While I was standing waiting for my lukewarm burger and fries. I noticed a young woman pouring to Cosmopolitans for two relatively attractive women from Cal Poly.

When the woman went to serve the women their drinks, she stuck her thumbs directly into their drinks...right in front of the women.

To say I was disgusted would be an understatement. I tried to resist gagging and wretching, but never picked up my order.

Their only saving grace is that they are building more seating outside.

• Pros: It's expanding the seating outside.
• Cons: Crowded, liquored up, load and lazy staff!

I visit my best friend who goes to Cal Poly several times a year and this is allllways the first stop (second stop= balis frozen yogurt). The ABC burger is honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had...and I know my burgers! The tri tip sandwich is wonderful too as well is the tri tip salad. Their fries have really good seasoning and they give you tonnnns. It is always packed and hard to get a table but I'd say it is worth the wait, definitly!

Great food--just check your order to see that you get what you paid for.

I am a frequent customer of Firestone Grill, and recently went there to order takeout. I had ordered two ABC burgers, a salad, an order of fries, and another of onion rings. As usual, the food was excellent, but I soon found out my order of onion rings consisted of only 4 rings (strategically placed on top) and the rest of the bag was fries! I felt ripped off, because it seemed the onion rings were placed on top to make it seem like a full order of them. It isn't someting major, but it is a question of honesty nonetheless. I will never return there again, even though the food is great. If you order takeout there, be sure to mention this review and check your order--it might prevent a similar occurance.

Anything and everything I ever wanted in a place to eat and watch sports!

I dont live locally. But I come to visit a special someone here in SLO. She introduced me to this place and it was instant love. Now, I come to eat at firestone grill for the food and atmosphere, especially the PIG SANDWICH. Thats really the only reason I come to SLO. But dont tell my girlfriend that. ;)

BBQ-yummy

THis place it so much fun on sport nights. A great place to hang out, have some drinks, get some BBQ food and watch a game on their flat screen TV's. They have a full bar and short wine list, and a pretty simple menu or burgers and fries. I reccommend the Steak Cobb Salad and a basket of fries. This place is loud and is usually full of younger college folk!! But a great place to get the night started if you are going out on the town in SLO!!

• Pros: Good BBQ and drinks andyou can be loud and rowdy
• Cons: It gets loud and rowdy, so if you are looking for something quiet get it to go and go home

the trip-tip salad is plentiful and priced wonderfully. The small portion will feed two. The only bad thing is there are always a lot of people there, so the wait can be a while.
